In my book this is not natural weaning but a nursing strike. It also
sounds like the baby is either nauseous or congested (or both). I would
suggest that the mom not offer the breast while the baby is awake for a
day or so, trying only when he is almost, or even fully asleep. Lots of
skin to skin, adequate fluids(for both of them) and maintaining the milk
supply are also important. I haven't known too many mothers who
persevered during an extended nursing strike but i have read of some
lasting 5 or 6 days.
