You probably won't get anywhere in the short run with this MD,
unfortunately.  Recommendations for jaundice don't include D5W under any
circumstances--even the non-bf friendly use formula, as D5W has been shown
not to help and often to hurt!  The AAP guidelines for jaundice are in
Pediatrics in 1994 (I don't have the ref. here--check the archives as I
think I posted it not too long ago.)  I hope this mom and baby do OK in
less than optimal circumstances; perhaps this doc will learn for the
future.
