There is an article in JOGNN, VOL24, #7 : The Immunologic Significance of
Breast MIlk. Containers for storage are discussed. The author states:" Glass
containers are the best choice for storing breast milk because there is no
absorption of secretory IgA anitibodies and other proteins of proven benefit
to the infant". It was previously thought that glass decreased leukocyte
counts in milk stored in glass containers.
This article relates to milk storage for NICU babies, but thought it might be
