Thanks, Sheila Humphrey, for your post a few lines later than mine about
antidepressants--you included the Dr. Hale info about a one baby case study
showing a correlation between colic symptoms and the use of Prozak. (I went
back and looked!) Lesson to me--review your already read references--
just because you didn't REMEMBER the info was there doesn't mean it isn't!
Research /Reporting question: In this situation, though I have nothing
written out in a formal- send- it- to- someone way at this point, and it is
anecdotal by the mom in question (no double blind etc.) it would make sense
that there be a repository of this kind of experiential information. We
all have our tidbits gleaned from the moms and babies we work with that add
to or back up the documented literature. Would the recommended reporting
route to follow be a letter to JHL? Those of you who publish--help me out!
It is a little intimidating to put your observations on the line...at
least beyond that of our own little circles of influence, and our friends
on LACTNET!
Karen
