I am helping a mother of our spanish helpform from the LLLI web pages. Her
baby is 6
month old - baby only nursing 2-3 times per day, lots of solids. She is
experiencing severe hair loss (more than normal). She has had this problem
before and the treatment that is recommended is birth control pills and
something she said is called "antiadrogen" - of which the active ingredient
is: cyproterone acetate 2mg
Her question is, is this truly contraindicated during breastfeeding a child
this age? is there any way to time feeds to minimize exposure? will she have
to wean to avoid baldness?
I appreciate any help you can give me in this instance. I have already
searched the Lactnet archives with no luck.
Looking forward to your reply
