Hair loss after birth is the norm. It typically occurs around 4-8
months after the baby is born, and has nothing to do with
breastfeeding. Almost all mothers lose hair, some much more than
others. I think that still losing a lot around 11 months after birth
is a little unusual, but it could still be within the realm of normal.
Most of the hair eventually grows back, but not all. As far as I
know, there is nothing to do for it. Of course, there is no reason
that something like alopecia areata could not present 11 months after
birth. Alopecia areata is also not caused by breastfeeding, and its
treatment (steroid injections etc) does not require mothers to stop
breastfeeding.
