Now I'm looking at all my little patients very suspiciously to see which
direction their hair goes! Today I saw something in our very multicultural
practice that made me pause and think. Many cultures shave the baby's head
early on, I think in the belief (as best I've been able to understand)
that the baby's hair will then grow in thickly. These babies, like the one
I saw today, definitely get to a sticking straight up stage, like a crew
cut, before their hair gets long enough to fall over. I've seen this
custon in Eastern Europeans, Middle Eastern and Indian babies. Just
another thought. Sincerely, Pat Young in SNJ, USA
