I am very behind on reading Lactnet posts so this might be a little dated.

I went to a BFconference here in Dayton this past weekend where it was stated
that frenulum clips are not recognized by the AAP as a necessary procedure.
I find this hard to believe. If this is the case, how do they explain the
cracked, scabbed, bleeding nipples? Please don't answer that question. I
know the answer all too well. Would appreciate any information. Greg
Notestine, DDS presented an excellent panel on this very subject. Great
slides of frenulums -- before and after -- and the damaged nipples. It is
encouraging to live in the same town. So many DDS's here still think
breastmilk causes dental caries and no interest in the correct information.

So many to educate -- never enough time!
