What I was left wondering about last night's Mad About You episode is
whether, in future episodes, they will pretend that Mabel can now go to
sleep by herself every night without any rocking, breastfeeding, or
comforting from mom and dad? In other words, will they give viewers the
impression that one night of crying solves the "sleep problem" forever? Or
will Mabel protest next week, too? And when she does, what will the parents
do? I was waiting on pins and needles for the mother to wonder out loud if
the baby was still alive, once she stopped crying. If that had been me
(NEVER!!) I would have been worried that the baby had choked on her own
vomit and died. Hey, that would be a good end to this series of topics on
the show -- they tried to Ferberize and the baby died!
