Carol, A very BIG thank you for your letter to Santa!

A couple of years ago I was working with an intense case of a 5-week-old
premie whose mom was working very hard to help him learn to feed at the
breast. It was Christmas Eve at midnight when a crisis call came from mom.
I grabbed my coat and told my young-adult daughters that Santa probably
wouldn't leave me anything because I wouldn't be tucked in bed when he came.

The next morning there was a letter to Santa from them. It said in part:

"Just wanted to warn you, you might run into our mom coming or going tonight
because she is helping a mother and baby, so don't be alarmed. I know you
will understand. If you see her, please be supportive of what she is doing.
She has the same dream you have, of making the world a better place for
children--one at a time. You probably know how overwhelming and sometimes
discouraging that can be, how society can get in the way. But you also know
it can be rewarding, too, and how important it is."

Felt good!

And little Andrew did learn to feed at his mother's breast.
