Here's are some questions from a few collegues of mine (who don't have
access to the Internet) that I didn't dare answer, so I told them I'd post
them on Lactnet.Hope you can help me out here, I don't have a clue how to
find keywords for these questions to search the archives, without getting
an awfull lot of messages.....
1."Is it true that breastfeeding mothers have the hormone 'relaxine' , that
makes them relaxed and sleepy after breastfeeding? and does relaxine
decrease pelvic instability?"
2." Is there any relation between pelvic instability of women after
delivery and breastfeeding? (does it get better, worse or.....??)."
3. "I've read about the influence of mother's intake of drugs or medicines
and. breastmilk, But WHAT body fluid(s) is milk made of?? (only blood?)."
4. "I've read mothers can eat what's healthy, moreover they can eat
whatever they want, no harmful effects are to be expected for the baby.
Then how come that dairy products can cause allergies and cabbage can give
baby gassiness?? how (in what form or shape) do the 'gassy' parts get into
the mothers milk and cause gassiness, allergies etc??".
Well, I guess I'm keeping the (question-)flow flowing here, it's kind of
like a milk ejection reflex with me, sometimes no questions or input, other
times they just "LET DOWN" (gee, it's hard trying to make a joke in another
language, but I keep on trying).
TIA,
Renate Rietveld, IBCLC.
