My 8 year old daughter just excitedly pointed out that the January 1998
issue of National Geographic (pg. 71) has a beautiful photo of a polar bear
breastfeeding her cub. The caption states "For about two and a half years
mothers nurse their cubs with milk containing 35% fat - a security blanket
for the Arctic winter.
