Dear Sharon,
I worked with a mom like this many years ago . She breastfed two
children each for more than a year and never had any problem with milk
supply. She did, however, have a badly cracked nipple both times. With
each baby, she stopped nursing for a short time until the nipple healed
(pumped and fed with bottle) and then each baby went back to breast
easily and nursed well thereafter ( never did figure out the cause of her
nipple problems). There are cultures where babies are routinely nursed
on only one breast and they do not seem to have any problems. Go for it.
