Hi lactnetters, am quite new/previously lurking to lactnet - have main
interest in the role of medicinal plants during lactation (does't that cover
a big frontier?) but the recent thread of clomid use for fertility and
lactation failure pp. had me take a look (through Pubmed search engine) at
clomide ( try clomide AND lactation)-pretty interesting. Eg.:

Fertil Steril 1992 Nov;58(5):1060-1062

Isolated prolactin deficiency: a case report.

Falk RJ

A 36-year-old woman, with lifelong oligomenorrhea and immeasurable serum PRL
levels, conceived and had normal deliveries after ovulation induction with
CC. Alactogenesis followed both deliveries. Evaluation of other pituitary
hormones were within normal limits, and attempted stimulation of PRL levels
by TRH was unsuccessful. The clinical significance of isolated
hypoprolactinemia is discussed.

My questions: Of the women treated for infertility and who also suffered low
milk production pp, did they have an alteration in prolactin levels before
treatment? Hyperprolactinemia, from various conditions, can also bring a
woman to fertility treatments. Do these women also have difficulty
breastfeeding after clomide treatment?
