I have been following this thread closely, but I may have missed what
I thought would surely be brought up by someone, by now: the WABA
(world alliance for breastfeeding advocacy[or action])homepage on
"Breastfeeding as a Feminist Issue" in which many topics are covered,
including the fact that breastfeeding refutes the myth of women as
consumers; bf empowers women in their bodies' worth; counteracts the
idea of the breast as a sexual object, etc. This is a policy draft.
I used some of it in a recent paper to rave reviws from a singularly
feminist (and heretofore bf neutral) prof. Unfortunately I do not
have this address with me here at school, but I think I brought it up
with keywords bf/feminism/women/feminist/advocacy/WABA.
