Hello Denise,

Your private mail also came in fine, but maybe you've tried it again.....
You've asked me about the side-effects of Dostinex, well.........here they
are...

Off and on dizziness and headaches, seldom stomach-ache, palpitation (of
the heart), epigastralgie (sorry, don't know the translation, maybe
epigastralgia, fill me in on that please), sleepiness, nosebleeds or
passing hemianopsie (same here, maybe hemianopsia or something like that),
regular occurring bloodpressure drops during the first 3-4 days postpartum
(> 20mm Hg systolic and >10 mm Hg diastolic).

Warning/Cautions: During the third week pp. a symptomatic, mostly moderate
rebound effect can occur. Care has to be taken with Raynaud's disease and
liver and kidneyfunction disorders. Especially during the first days of
treatment regular bloodpressure checks are advised. Before the onset of the
treatment, pregnancy has to be ruled out and during 6 weeks after treatment
pregnancy has to be avoided.

During the first days after treatment one has to reckon with a diminished
ability of reaction and concentration.

Pfffeeewww, I did it!!!! I've translated it !!! and it didn't even took
that much time,
I sure hope everything above makes some sense to you, let me know, because
this is only my "school-english".

I've posted this message also to the lactnet library, for maybe someone
else is interested in this......

By the way, this information comes from the 'Farmaco-therapeutisch kompas'
(don't worry, it's no brand name, still trying to follow the Lactnet-rules
here....'just a joke').

Renate Rietveld, IBCLC.
