Good news in Mississippi! (That's such a rarity, folks, I just had to say
it.) I finally saw the mother and baby on Thursday. I took one look at the
baby and told the mother there was absolutely no reason to weigh her hefty
son, but since she was there we'd see what the scale said. He was fat,
healthy, double-chined, with rolls every where! I put him on the scales in
his birthday suit and he topped out at 9#, 8 oz! At three weeks old he's a
pound over birth weight! The mother either mis-heard or someone mis-spoke
when she thought his weight registered at 8#, 4oz. When I say the baby's
chart, they'd recorded 9#, 4 oz. on Tuesday. So, he'd gained 4 oz. from
Tuesday to Thursday even. Depo apparently didn't hurt a bit in this case!
By the way, the mother told me that she leaked copious amounts during the
last few months of her pregnancy. Additionally, from her descriptions of
nursing she has an abundant milk supply; she could easily nurse twins. Baby
nurses every 3 hours round the clock. (He handles the abundant supply and
somewhat strong letdown just fine.) He is so beautiful! Wish I could email
you all a picture.

Well, it's been a week from _____ around here. But it's had a very happy
ending. Have a great weekend, folks! Keitha :)
