Should you need additional reasons for NOT using formula--or suggesting it
to others-- read on. I picked this up in my most recent issue of (of all
things!) ORGANIC GARDENING.

"The New York Times reports that four soy-based baby formulas--Carnation,
Similac, Isomil and Enfamil--have all been tested and found to contain the
genetically-manipulated soybeans that have been engineered to survive being
sprayed with the hericide Roundup (glyphosate).

Ye gods and little fishes! What does that mean? Quite simply, Roundup is
a vegetation killing POISON that is used by commercial (and some small size
and amateur) farmers to kill weeds while they are growing crops! If the
soybeans have been engineered to withstand onslaught of Roundup, it means
they are NOT KILLED by it.

One could also infer that using those beans means the user is EATING THE
POISON! Do we want our babies exposed to ROUNDUP? (I do not use it on
those ??##$$??### blackberry vines because I do not want my DOG exposed if
she happens to rub against the leaves of the plants I try to get rid of
(hence, I dig them up) ).

Gives one pause, does it not?
