Dear Cindy,
I am in the 3rd semester of an ADN program in Texas. I am so happy to
hear that you have been able to weave breastfeeding info through 2
semesters worth of cirriculum. I know that during the first year of my
schooling, it seemed like every day something was mentioned in lecture
that could have had a link back to breasfeeding. All those little
chances to say something positive about BF, and teach a little at a time
can be very effective in my opinion.
Every instructor I have ever had found time for little anecdotes that
only marginally applied to the lecture topic. If only a handful of
those anecdotes relayed useful BFing info, just imagine how much more
student nurses would know about the topic.
Just think.....you can change the world one student nurse at a time...
then that nurse can go out and change the world one patient at a time..
before long, there will be all kinds of change. :)
Megan
who will hopefully be an LC after the results come out.
