I've written a post about this before, (17 aug 1996). I'm no docter or
otherwise medical person. I'm no IBCLC either. But I'm suffering from
this and have read a bit about this topic. There is a Dutch organisation
from people who suffer from this. They recommend to go on with nursing
because:

1. the mother usually cannot do anything with the baby except nursing.
Most mothers are very happy they can do at least that with the baby
2. most women experience a step back in their recovering when they
ovulate or menstruate. And since breastfeeding usually postpones these,
bf has a positive influence on the recovering.

Still some docters here recommend weaning too :(
