The mother is right.  For crying out loud, the biggest risk for burned
patients is infection.  Nothing better for the baby than
breastfeeding.  Furthermore, an 8 month old needs comfort and the
breast is the best way to give it to him.  And the mother needs the
comfort of being able to comfort the baby.  Can surgeons be this
heartless?
