Just a few snippets from posts this week:
In spite of all the initial hospital interference with the nursing
relationship...
Her MD wants to prescribe it, but says she must stop BF first.
Mom and doctor had discussed this
alternative, but doctor really wants her to take Biaxin.
...her new ped has been worried about the boy's size and and has
told her to stop bf if possible especially at night. After a well check
at two years, the doctor ordered blood tests on the boy's growth hormone
levels. They were slightly elevated but not abnormal. The doc is now
suggesting no hind milk since mom doesn't seem to want to wean. The boy
is 40 pounds and 99% in height.
A friend suggested milk allergy. Ped agreed it was a
possibility, put baby on a lactose free ABM. [Say what??!! PWG]
"don't you think that all the
>antibodies and white blood cells make a difference?" She replied that she
>doesn't believe that they make it through the gut and that it's never been
>proven that they do.
This MD told
me today that Diflucan is far too strong to be used during BF.
He is open to reading studies,
or to hearing from other MD's who could provide evidence that such a
condition exists and is helped by specific meds.
And then the refreshing:
My not quite 26 month
old daughter is 38.5 inches tall and 47 pounds. Her ped's comment? "Apple
trees make apples".
