Benefits/advantages of BF, risks/disadvantages of ABM, a little history of
why breastfeeding rates declined, a bit of video of breastfeeding babies and
mothers, and how women today learn to breastfeed their babies.
Use small group activites where possible, such as a matching activity sheet
(words listed on one side and definitions/benefits on the other side), or use
different colored index cards that are matched up for terminology and
definitions/benefits, ie: two different colors of index cards, one color with
the words, (ie colostrum) and one color with the corresponding
definition/benefit, or small groups discussion of how they think new mothers
would best learn how to breastfeed, then the spokesperson list on the board
that groups' top two strategies. A group crossword puzzle. Anyway, as
interactive as possible.
