A client has been told by her pediatrician, that if her three month old (ex 33
week premie)begins to get symptoms of thrush (mom is on antibiotics) that she
should put some yogurt in his mouth.
Isn't this adding solids? in particular, isn't is cow's milk?
I know many babies get yogurt before plain milk, but........
Why is yogurt tolerated earlier than plain old milk? Is it because of the
lactose breakdown by the bacteria culture?
I know Dr Sears recommends acidophilus capsules(open and sprinkle on the
tongue), and other places(?), but is this advice about yogurt seen elsewhere?
