I am struggling with how to help these women whose babies just won't
latch as well. I am wondering how many people tell the mom it is ok to
go ahead and supplement with a bottle while they are working things out
and how often this arrangement will really end with successful
breastfeeding. I have had several mothers lately who would only stick
with some sort of alternative feeding method for about 2 days, and then
they'd had it. Of course, they got very little encouragement from their
health care providers, but often they just won't give the baby enough
time if they are using the cup, syringe, etc. I'm thinking they might
hang in there a little longer if they are using the bottle. What do
others thinK?
