I have a good friend who is breastfeeding her 21 month daughter. Her
daughter loves feeding as does Mum, but Mum is starting to want to
wean in preparation for another pregnancy (this is her prefered
choice to tandem feeding). Baby currently has a few feeds a day and
feeds to sleep day and night. Wakes during the night for feeds to.
Mum went to see her G.P yesterday who prescibed a combined pill for
contraception and told Mum that it will help her to wean her
daughter. It seems a strange method of weaning to me, but will
probably work. What does everyone else think? What about the
oestrogen? Val in Busselton, Western Australia RN RM IBCLC
