Sulfalazine pass in breast milk. Ratio milk/plasma between 0,32 - 0,64.
Baby takes at most 3,8 mg/kg/day of active substance via breast milk.
Problems encoutered : bloody diarrhoeas in infants.
Sulfalazine is contraindicated while breastfeeding an infant less than one
month old. It can be used when the infant is older ; keep a close eye on
baby's stools.
