Re : Low Molecular Weight Heparin (Dalteparin sodium -Fragmin)
LMH is an acid fragmentation of Heparin, with an average molecular weight of
5000 daltons with 90% of the material varying from 2000 to 7000 daltons in
molecular weight.
First, due to its high molecular weight(5000), it is very unlikely that any
would transfer into human milk at all. Secondly, because it is a large
molecular weight protein, it would be rapidly destroyed in the GI tract
eliminating absorption.
