Any periareolar incision will result in decreased milk supply in my
experience. Why augmentation surgery is done in this way is beyond my
understanding. It does not look as good, and damages the function of
the breast. The surgeons who say it has no effect don't know what
they are talking about.
Luckily, this surgery, at least in our area is not usually done
through a periareolar incision, but the implant is placed behind the
breast. Now why the surgery is done in the first place...
