Hi All,
The best example of a low-pay job with enormous responsibility is PARENTING! There's actually a book about the economics of mothering called "If Women Counted" by Marilyn Waring. Heavy reading, though.
If you think about it, much of "nurturing" work is not well-paid, whether done for family members or others. This includes caretaking of the young, sick, and elderly; teaching; counseling, etc. Yet, I believe it's the most important work on earth. The best things in life aren't for sale.
Life isn't about the "stuff."
