Dear All,
Just to mention quickly that I have such an appreciation of and admiration for
the level of intellect, committment, and endeavour I witness daily through
Lactnet. Thankyou for being a part of this amazing network.
I have posted before that I am leading a workshop on Breastfeeding after breast
surgery at the NMAA Vic Branch Conference in 1998. The types of surgery I will
discuss are grouped as such:
AUGMENTATION: - reduction
- enlargement
LUMPECTOMY: - mass/abcess
MASTECTOMY: - uni/bi lateral
- lymph node/spread removal-oedema and complications
BREAST/CHEST SURGERIES GENERALLY (influencing BF)
- ie, accident, heart, lung, other?
(briefly included will be gladular tissue removal, radiation/chemo therapy,
types and degrees of incisions involved)
I feel that I have read so much that I may be seeing double (no breast-pun
intended)
Can anyone tell me if I may have over looked a type of surgery, or perhaps
underestimated the impact of a type on the breastfeeding relationship, or (God
forbid,) not investigated one/some?
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated and email me personally should you
see fit.
All the best,
Jill
