Hi Patricia,
        I use gentian violet regularly, and my clients tell me the purple
disappears in 1-2 days after treatment completed. I asked one last week if
the purple colour was a problem, and she said "What are you talking
about-it was gone in a day"  I know they don't do anything special.  I
recommend the 0.5%aqueous solution, perhaps the weaker concentration fades
faster.
