I´m still working on my list of recommendations and am taking into
advisement the suggestions of adding a step related to maternity leaves.

One of the reasons I had not added it was that there are so many laws in
each country related to this. In Puerto Rico the employer is required by
law to provide 8 weeks maternity leave at half pay. this can be divided up
to 4 weeks before and 4 after (if you know the timing) or moms can, with
the approval of the MD, continue working and take most of her leave after
the baby is born.

It is up to the corporation whether they will allow her to add extra sick
leave or vacation time to this maternity leave.

My concern with adding a step related to this is all the variations there
already are worldwide -

so - should I add a step that speaks to allowing a mom more than the
required-by-law time? Or do I stick (as I am wont to do) to the areas
related to the mom at the worksite and avoid that additional controversy.

I avoided the other controversy - of providing child care at the job for
the same reason...
