Dear Lactnetters in or around Madisonville, KY:
I am "no mail" for a while but I just received notification that the
Regional Medical Center is looking for an LC. Here are the particulars:
"Regional Medical Center, a 410-bed acute care teaching and referral
hospital located in western Kentucky offers a challenging opportunity for a
progressive-minded professional--Lactation Consultant to educate, advocate,
and clinically manage breast-feeding care for our inpatients and
outpatients."
(I am skipping two paragraphs to cut to the chase!)
"We are now in the final stages of becoming a Baby Friendly Hospital. As
our Lactation Consultant, you would coordinate the final steps of the Baby
Friendly Initiative. You would work closely with childbearing families,
breast-feeding infants, hospital staff, physicians for various specialties,
clinic staff, Home Health nurses and other community agencies involved with
breast-feeding families."
"We seek highly motivated, results-oriented individuals seeking a position
with responsibility that offers the opportunity to create and present your
own ideas and programs. We encourage you to call us at 1-800-500-0144.
This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package that
includes tuition and continuing education reimbursement and relocation
assistance."

Wow, sounds like a dream job but would someone, whoever gets this position,
tell them that breastfeeding is not hyphenated? At least not in my books!
Glad to pass this onto you. Wonder why they contacted me in San Francisco?
Looks like they bought the ILCA roster.
