Lemon Balm (melissa officinalis) is really easy to grow and care for
(at least in hot, sunny Israel!)  I use it in tea to relax.  My books
say that it is used for PMS, menstrual cramps and will ease labor pains
as well.  There are no medical precautions.  I'd say that it's worth a
try and sure beats taking OTC stuff!  For chronic problems, I'd find a
good alternative medicine practioner.
