For anyone on Lactnet who has been waiting for materials from INFACT Canada,
the postal strike which has prevented us from filling orders for the last
three weeks has just ended. The mail is moving again; however, the backlog
coupled with the volume of Christmas mail may still cause delays with both
resources and our newsletter. Your patience is appreciated.
The strike has been devasting for many charities, INFACT included, as it has
came at peak fundraising time. Anyone wishing to make a donation to our
domestic or international programmes in Africa, Cental America, Mexico and
South America can do so over the phone as we now take VISA. (416) 595-9819
With regard to the Nestle/Hershey question, my understanding is that they
are unrelated. Confusion may have arisen because brand names are licensed to
different companies in different countries. For example, Oh Henry is
manufactured by Hershey in Canada, but in the USA it is a Nestle product.
(A bit late posting on this one, that's how far behind I am in digests!)
Wouldn't it be wonderful if NOW used the AAP statement to lobby for an
improved maternity leave policy? American women deserve better!
