My 14 yo daughter just read to me, from (Nov) Fitness magazine, a letter to
the editor about the previous month's article on "Does having a Baby Ruin
Your Body?". The letter, from a reader and breastfeeding counselor, expressed
surprise that the article did not include the effects of lactation on
postpartum wt loss, and how this can be an advantage of breastfeeding to shed
excess wt. So, kudos for the letter writer, Heather Hauser of Action MA. The
editor wrote a follow-up thank-you for "pointing out one of the many benefits
that result from breastfeeding". So, kudos for Fitness magazine
([log in to unmask]). To take it a step further and to counter any
concern that breastfeeding ruins the breast, Dr. Newman could write a letter
to the editor describing his famous opinion of how lactation effects the
breast. Brings back fond Lactnet memories, eh?
