Thanks for your support on this one Ros.  I also feel strongly about
the use of pillows, nipple shields and even the football hold and the
social life of the Mum.  I try really hard to teach Mums the most
socially acceptable method of breastfeeding in hopes that they will
continue to breastfeed and feel proud of what they are doing.  Of
course I would never not suggest the above including the Australian
hold, if they needed to be suggested, but I would also ensure that
the Mum aimed to get back to the more socially acceptable
breastfeeding methods as rapidly as she and her baby allowed.
