HI All,
Was talking to a friend of mine who just recently suffered a bout of viral
spinal menengitis. She had weaned her daughter a few months before but she
was wondering what would have happened if she had still been BF. So, our
questions:
1) If a mom contracts Viral SM must she stop BF until she is better (pump
and dump) (I realize that by the time she has symptoms she will have had the
virus for at least a day or two and that the baby will have already been
exposed) to reduce the risk of passing the infection on to the child?
2) What are the risks of the child contracting VSM from breastmilk?
3) Does breastmilk help protect against VSM ?
4) Same questions for Bacterial Spinal Menengitis
5) any other info you can give or questions you can answer that I haven'''t
asked on this topic!
TIA!
