A co-Leader just read a book (I forget the title) that includes a slightly
different take on the monkeys with a choice between wire mesh "mothers"
with a bottle and cuddly cloth "mothers" without. The monkeys preferred
the cuddly mothers.
The author concludes that since bonding appears to be a function of
cuddling, not of food, dads who really want to build a relationship with
their babies will do better to focus on snuggling with them, not on feeding
them.
