Our community hospital is finally starting to get the message that we need to
alter nursery policy to promote lactation.   Could any of the experience
nurses on Lactnet please email me privately with copies of nursing-directed
nursery policies?  We especially need to work on eliminating bottles given
inappropriately (and without MD order) to breastfeeding babies and to try to
work toward rooming-in (which, so far, has met with resistance from the
nursing staff).  I'm much more used to writing policies directed toward
doctors, so policies directed toward the nursing care would be helpful.
