I talked to a mom today who is desparate to up her milk supply for her
4-month old baby. Mom took the allergy med known as Clariton for 3 days when
she noticed a definite drop in her supply. She did not attribute the supply
drop to the drug, and took it one more day before she realized what was going
on. Mom discontinued the med at that point.

Mom is now very worried because 8 days have passed since she stopped the
drug, and her supply is still very low. She is feeding every 2 hours or
less, and says she notices her MER is slow in coming, and when she does let
down, baby gulps and swallows, but breast is emptied too fast and baby
screams.

Mom has bfed 7 other kids, with no problems. She is, to say the least,
stressed, so maybe MER is impaired for other reasons.

Has anyone heard of this drug's impact on BF, and when can the mom expect the
situation to improve? I told her about fenugreek, but is there anything else
she can do?

Please E-Mail me privately, as I went NOMAIL temporarily today!!

Thanks,
