HI All,
Well, thanks to your knowledge I was able to almost totally help a mom who
called today. She has a 5 mo old little girl who has, within the last
month, started having clumpy stools. This baby is 100% BF. No solids or
juices of any kind. Baby is allergic to dairy and mom is on a dairy free
diet. She sis mention that she might have accidently gotten some dairy
(hidden) when eating at someone elses home a time or two, but wasn't sure if
the clumpy poopies were soon after the suspected dairy eating. The stools
vary in color (which I was able to tell her was OK) and most times are
normal BF poopies. Today, she said baby strained and grunted a bit while
filling her drawers, and the results were several soft-clay-like clumps with
"normal" stool as well. he is concerned that the baby may be slightly
constipated, but she and I both thought that it was rare for a BF baby to
become constipated. ANy ideas on this poopy subject??
(what a topic, hmmm?)
TIA!
