Thank you, Jan Cornfoot, for your comment about a breastpump being called a
new parent's best friend, particularly one that cycles 8-12 x per minute
and has often been described as painful. I was also dismayed to hear that.
THEN I got excited about the public breastfeeding comments. I often
discourage people from buying pumps as prenatal shower gifts since it seems
to emphasize mom-baby separation. For that matter, I am horrified by
prenatal baby cards promising babysitting. First-time mothers get the idea
that one of their goals will be to get away from their baby as soon as
possible. Uggh. Thank you again.
