Have a Mum who has had blistered nipples for 2 months along with
deep, stabbing breast pain. Presented to me today. No itching,
flaking, of the nipple, no redness or shininess, only blisters. Baby
is addicted to the breast, feeds her to sleep. Mum wanting to wean
but baby won't have a bottle or cup, only the breast. Mum wanting to
wean due to pain and blisters which aren't resolving, does anyone
have any ideas? I have suggested that baby may be using Mum as a
teething ring type thing, but would that cause the deep breast pain?
What else could it be?
