Though I am not of this program, I am somewhat familiar with it and just
want to add my 2 cents here--- CLE prepares one for doing breastfeeding
education and basic lactation work. For those wishing to become
lactation consultants, they have a second course for "CLC" that covers
the more "advanced" lactation issues. I would hope that anyone serious
about becoming an LC would complete that second course if they have done
the first, or otherwise seek additional education and experience before
trying to sit for the exam.
I do believe that BSC offers both CLE and pre-IBCLC training, similar to
UCLA's CLE and CLC courses. Jan, do correct me if I am wrong.
