Jay,
        I think that you are within your rights to provide information to these
parents. You are not telling them that they have to follow any set of
reccomendations. You are simply giving them current information. The
parents don't even have to share this info with the hospital if they don't
want to. In my thinking that is just part of informed consent. Obtaining
information is part of making an informed choice. Not always easy in this
world with varying opinions and different ways of doing things.
        Keep up the good work. It is obvious that you care greatly about this family.
