Sounds as if it is not uncommon for physicians to miss the breasts as a part
of the prenatal exam. When I ask the students in my breastfeeding class the
same question, "How may had their breasts checked by their physician during
their pregnancy?" A minority raise their hands.
I like the idea of knowing if the mother had breast surgery, has had a
change in breast size during pregnancy, etc., so I am prepared when I talk
to the new mother. It is important to know about the whole person during
pregnancy, not only from the waist down.
