My reference doesn't mention bf specifically, but it certainly indicates
that goldenseal is a powerful herb.. that should be avoided during
pregnancy, esp if there is a tendency towards miscarriage.. not used in
cases of hypertension and heart problems.. taken in excessive dose is toxic
causing severe poisoning, even death. Long-term internal use can cause
elevated bp, states of general excitement and in some, hallucinations and
severe weakness !
