You neglected to mention where the herpes were. Herpes are spread by
contact. If they are genital herpes contact while breastfeeding is probably
not an issue. If they are labial (on the mouth) then she should cover the
lesion despite her feeding method. Either way she can nurse. The only
contraindication would be if the lesion in on the breast (and then she could
use the other one)
